Dr. Traci Rose Rider is Assistant Professor at NC State University’s College of Design. She is a 2019-2022 Interdisciplinary Research Leaders Fellow with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation in Cohort 4 focusing on how the built environment of a hybrid elementary school/ community center in an underserved community can increase positive health outcomes for students, staff, parents, and the community. She has two books on green building guidelines and materials, with another book on healthy building guidelines underway.

J. Aaron Hipp, PhD, is a University Faculty Scholar, Associate Director for Social and Behavioral Science Applications in the Center for Geospatial Analytics, and Associate Professor of Community Health and Sustainability in the Department of Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Management at NC State, as well as a 2019-2022 Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Interdisciplinary Research Leadership Fellow. Dr. Hipp is a built environment and active living scholar combining emerging technologies for measuring built environments and active living with community engaged research.


Kia Baker

Kia Baker is Founder and Principal of Baker Ingenuity Group, a community development consulting firm.  Previously she served as founder and Executive Director of Southeast Raleigh Promise, a Community Quarterback Organization. She is a graduate of Hampton University and a RWJF Interdisciplinary Research Leadership Fellow.


Victoria Lanteigne

Victoria Lanteigne is a Graduate Research Assistant and Ph.D. Candidate at North Carolina State University’s College of Design, where she focuses her research on design for equity. Prior to joining NC State, Victoria served as a Universal Design consultant to the building industry for 10 years. Victoria’s project experience includes Universal Design for commercial workplaces, affordable multifamily housing, educational institutions, and nonprofit organizations. Victoria is passionate about elevating equity as a building performance initiative and has contributed to inclusive design standards in WELLv2 and LEEDv4.


Rosa McDonald

Rosa McDonald is an Assistant Professor of Architecture at North Carolina State University’s College of Design. Rosa’s scholarly interests began with a focus on sustainability and more traditional energy efficiency measures in architecture through daylighting, shading systems, and energy modeling technologies. Her research interests have expanded to include the investigation of how leveraging the ecological and biophilic benefits of daylight and vegetation can foster opportunities for green living systems as integral parts of our built environment. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Design at NC State University in the areas of Design for Sustainability, Design for Health and Well-being, and Design and Technology.
